It absorbs exudate and keeps the wound moist and allowing the dressing to be changed without harming the wound or surrounding skin or exposing the patient for additional pain. The Safetac technology layer seals the wound margins, preventing exudate from leaking into the surrounding skin and reducing the danger of maceration. Mepilex Ag begins to inactivate wound-related microorganisms within 30 minutes and has a sustained impact for up to 7 days. By reducing the number of microorganisms, dressing may also reduce odor. Combines the best of two superior technologies the antimicrobial action of ionic silver with the benefits of Safetac soft silicone technology.
